Harrods Food Halls

Grand department stores in major cities are already decorated for the holiday season, and for a foodie there is none so alluring as Harrods in London and the festive displays in Harrod's Food Halls at this time of year.

Everything, or just about everything, in Harrods is branded—even at the holiday. Christmas Pudding by Harrods actually is spectacular served with their branded Hard Sauce.  Harrods Food Halls
When I lived in London, just a few blocks from Harrods, my great treat was to walz over to the food halls, do my shopping, and then have them deliver it so I didn't have to carry it all home. They would arrive at my front door in a small pale green van with the gold lettering and heraldic crest glittering on the side within a couple of hours and walk it right into my kitchen.

Service was incredible. It still is. Staff in the food halls are decked out in style and serve it up with style, delighting shoppers with the attention they will give to carving a sandwich.

I haven't tried The Iberico Ham House yet. Spanish cuisine in small plates and it seems intriguing when I slide by to check out what is on people's plates. Next time!

So to celebrate the kick-off of the holiday season, I hope I have brought you a bit of festivity from a food lover's perspective of London. Harrods still holds the top prize in my mind for sheer abundance, a bit of mystery, a splash of surprise, a canvas of brilliant holiday colors, and a world class level of service to make certain that it is all delivered in the best possible way.

Oh I wish I could be there right now! I have very fond memories of indulgent champagne lunches at the Oyster Bar. Love the Glitterati Spring Water – what a conversation piece that would be at my Christmas dinner table. xo Madame Bonbon
